i always loathed Posted by mr g at 15:30pm on 4th Jan 2010 our old akai s2000. reduced making music to an experience akin to trying to set a really fiddly vhs video recorder to record something on late night telly. at that weird threshold point when the clocks go forward or back and you have no idea what time it actually is. without the remote control, or the manual, and the front panel only has 3 buttons. only two of them labelled with anything that makes sense. and you know from experience that if you go wrong, you can't undo it in any way and setting the timer will never work again because it'll always be looking for something to record at 25:00 on the 31st feb, 1908. g
